Carl L. Blonkvist
President and Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Blonkvist joined Page-Wheatcroft & Co., Ltd., in 1999 as the firm's Chief Operating Officer. He resides in the firm's Dallas office. Additionally, he is also a Board Member of MMI, a $375 million dollar company owned by Citibank Venture Capital. In his capacity as Board Member, Mr. Blonkvist has recently redesigned the firm's officer performance compensation program.

Mr. Blonkvist received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial / Mechanical Engineering from Texas Technological University. He did his graduate work at Columbia University where he completed a Masters of Business Administration in Production Management and a portion of his Ph. D. in Operations Research.

Carl began his career with the Cabot Corporation as an Industrial Engineer in their Machinery Division. While at Cabot, he was responsible for the installation of a direct labor wage incentive plan. This included a major methods improvement program and the development of engineered time standards. In addition, he participated in job evaluations, equipment feasibility studies, installation of the first MRP system in the United States and during his last year with Cabot, he was a key member of the project management team formed to introduce a new product.

After completing his graduate work at Columbia, Mr. Blonkvist joined the consulting firm of Booz, Allen & Hamilton. He spent ten years in Booz Allen’s New York office and nearly ten years in their Dallas office. During his tenure at Booz Allen, Carl held a variety of positions including Senior Vice President, Dallas Managing Partner, Southwest Regional Manager and National Operations / Manufacturing Practice Leader. Carl has provided consulting services to over 200 domestic and foreign clients in a wide variety of industries and types of functional assignments. He was the author of Booz Allen’s procedures manual for "Manufacturing Cost Reduction and Productivity." He has written several articles for business and manufacturing periodicals and has been a frequent speaker for various management and operations associations; he has lectured at universities in the USA, Canada and England.

Mr. Blonkvist left Booz-Allen to form Paragon Consulting Group, a consulting firm specializing in Operations Strategy. As President and CEO, Carl built the firm to a size and quality such that it was purchased by Computer Science Corporation; Carl became a Senior Partner with CSC and managed the Southwest Manufacturing Practice.

Mr. Blonkvist joined a long term consulting client Coca-Cola Foods (now the Minute Maid Company) as their Senior Vice President of Operations. Reporting to him were seven manufacturing plants, Research and Development, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Logistics, Purchasing, Environmental Affairs and Cost Accounting. During his tenure, sales hit a high of three billion dollars and profitability was the highest in the division’s forty-year history.

At Mr. Blonkvist’s last corporate position, he was Senior Vice President of Operations for the Brinkmann Corporation. Reporting to him were five manufacturing plants, materials management, logistics, and engineering. Mr. Blonivist’s key objective at Brinkmann was to prepare the company as a potential acquisition candidate.

The United States Secretary of Defense selected Mr. Blonkvist to be the first male member of the forty-year-old organization, The Defense Advisory Committee On Women In the Services (DACOWITS). Currently Carl is a board member for Isthmus, a discussion and research group for the examining the convergence of scientific and non scientific concepts; a number of Nobel award winners have participated in this group.
